April 20th Is... RE-EVALUATE YOUR LIFE DAY

“While no road is ever
straight, dedication and
persistence will always
lead you to your dreams.”

Arte Moreno (1946 - )
Owner of the Los Angeles Angels, first Hispanic owner of a major league sports team, former outdoor advertising salesman.

1. What brings joy to my life?

2. How do I bring joy to those that surround me?

3. Is there one thing that I can do for one person to make their life a little better?

4. When was the last time you gave a stranger a genuine smile or held the door open for them? Sometimes we focus so intensely on what we have to do that we forget about, and sometimes we don’t even see, those that are around us.

5. List 10 places you would like to see or 10 things you’d like to do. Pick one at a time, do it and move to the next. Remember to congratulate yourself for the accomplishment!

6. If you and a group of friends sat down and had a typical conversation what tone would it have? Would it be positive, supportive and encouraging?

7. Are you content with the person you become when parking spots are limited and someone’s grandmother takes the spot you were eyeing? How can you change your attitude during these situations to help you maintain a less stressed mindset?

8. When was the last time you ate your favorite food, went on a walk in the rain or got up a little earlier than your family for a little peaceful solace? Why not do it today? We often put off indulging in the simple things in our lives that bring us satisfaction, whether it’s food, a favorite smell or viewing our favorite flower. Take a little extra time to enjoy what fills that cavern in your body that says, “Yessss, this is perfect.”

9. Remember that before we get angry we’re suppose to count to ten? Sometimes I need to count a little higher, so for a challenge, I do it in a couple of other languages. Try it; you may find that by the time you get to ten in Spanish and German that you’ve forgotten what upset you in the first place.

10. Try not to be too hard on yourself. We all know that we are often our own worst critics. Do you Remember Stuart Smalley’s Saturday Night Live skit of Daily Affirmations? “…I’m good enough, smart enough and doggone-it, people like me.” Laugh now, but it’s true. If you can remember that, then it will not only benefit you, but it will also benefit all of those who are close to you.
