APARTMENT Marketing for 2008
APARTMENT MARKETING FOR 2008It’s not easy to develop an effective marketing strategy off the top of your head, so let’s start with some key questions and answers. Take your time to think about these questions and how you can really apply them to your marketing. Ready? Let’s go!!
#1 WHY IS STRATEGY MORE IMPORTANT THAN RANDOM ACTS?
Marketing takes a lot of time, energy, and that always scarce resource... money! You need a strategy that focuses on the strengths of your community. You’ve probably got a good idea of who lives in your communities; families, young singles, seniors, etc. You need to focus your marketing dollars on where you’ll get the biggest return. Take some time to develop a strategy instead of jumping from idea to idea with no clear plan of action.
#2 REVIEW YOUR 2007 MARKETING
EFFORTS.
What worked? What didn’t? What is the biggest area for growth?
#3 WHO ARE YOUR BEST CUSTOMERS?
Do they fit into a niche (pet owners, yuppies, self-employed folks)? How can you expand your marketing efforts to capture more people from this niche?
#4 INVEST IN SALES TRAINING -- books, newsletters, seminars – anything to help you do your job better.
#5 ASK A COMPLETELY OBJECTIVE PERSON TO REVIEW YOUR MARKETING MATERIALS, SALES PITCH, MODEL APARTMENT, GROUNDS. Fresh eyes can lead to a fresh perspective.
#6 ELIMINATE WASTE.
What are you doing that is a waste of time? How can you use your time in the most productive manner possible?
Remember to keep the big picture in mind when developing your strategy...and make sure it is well thought out and well developed. Taking some time to develop a well-thought out process will save you tons of time and money in the long run.
