Marketing AND Resident Retention

Fun Activities And Attention Grabbing Events Do Double Duty!

Voting Spot
This summer is the perfect time to see if your community can be a voting location for the Presidential Election in November.

Contact your local Registrar of Voters office and ask if your community can be a place where citizens can vote. This will increase your traffic.

Make A Big Deal Of Your Amenities
If you are a community lucky enough to have fun summer amenities, now is the time to promote them. We really need to show our residents -- over and over -- how many amenities we have, and that they need to USE them! It's great to have cool amenities, but making sure your residents USE them is vital.

So...
*Rent underwater bicycles and have a race at your next pool party.
*Have a pool party!
*Host a party by your barbeque grills.
*Hire a tennis instructor to give free lessons every Saturday in July.
*Rent a moon bounce and put it next to your playground.
*Serve popsicles at the pool every Saturday.
*Rent funky pool toys each weekend in July & August.
*Give free sunglasses to residents at the pool one Thursday afternoon.
*Wash residents' cars FOR them one Friday night at your car wash area.
*Host a volleyball competition at your volleyball courts and show up in stilts! (Rent them from a rental-center.)
*Rent a cotton candy machine, old-time popcorn maker, or Italian ice machine from a rental-center and place it by your most visible amenity.

Subway Cookies
We spoke with a manager who buys cookies from Subway (at cost) and wraps the cookies in her apartment community's napkins. Cookies are given free to all Subway customers (while supplies last) every Friday. Put your move in special, community contact info, and Web address on the napkins. Also make a small sign that says, "Cookies donated by ____ community, just ___ minutes from here!"

Test out the days of the week to see if one Free Cookie day draws more traffic.
