Marketing To Seniors
While we're discussing how to make sure seniors read your collateral (bigger font sizes) we also need to point out other changes in our eyes as we age. As we get older, our corneas 'yellow' a bit. So the older you get, what you see has a yellower and yellower tint to it. Make sure you don't put yellow in ads, as most seniors see the ads with a bit of yellow in them anyway.Same thing goes for gold -- gold letters on a white apartment door are very hard for seniors to see.
As we age, it's also hard to distinguish the difference between blue and green. So only use one of these colors in your collateral.
Finally, the BEST color combination for seniors is black, white and red. The dramatic color differences means that aging eyes can see the message you are sending.
And of course the most important point to reiterate -- people with aging eyes are not just your grandparents!
